REBECCA'S CABIN

There's a rocker for two on the porch, a 5 pc patio table/chair set, a picnic table, firepit and a charcoal grill.

On the deck of REBECCA'S CABIN.

The view is looking toward the creek and Stephanie's Garden. To the right of the deck is a play area/sandbox that we have developed for little tots to actively do what they do while the adults can keep a close eye on them.

Bedroom in Rebecca's with queen bed. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and a vaulted ceiling.

Kitchenette has dishes, utensils, a microwave oven, coffeemaker and full refrigerator. The color television has many channels through Direct TV. Linens are furnished.

Comfy fouton makes into a double bed. This cabin can sleep four adults.

Another exterior view of Rebecca's Cabin. The view off the deck looks out over the woodlands and the creek. To the right is the large bridge. To the left is Stephanie's Garden.

Rebecca's is our largest cabin and there's plenty of room for a family to spread out.\

*****************************************************************

OK now, you are probably wondering why did we call it Rebecca's Cabin? First of all, Rebecca is the name of my daughter.  Also, Rebecca Bell Cloyd was my great, great grandmother who was born in Austin County, Texas in 1832.

In 1821, her pioneer father, James Bell, came to Texas from Florida with his brother Thomas to Stephen F. Austin's colony, and founded the town which became Bellville in 1848, the county seat of Austin County. Bellville is where I was born and raised.  I wrote a history book about this story entitled From Jamestown to Texas.

The third reason is that I lived on the land for thirty two years that was originally owned by Rebecca Cummings, the fiancee of Col. William Barrett Travis who died at the Alamo. One whole chapter in my history, From Jamestown to Texas is about the Cummings family and Travis.  Rebecca Cummings is also a central character in my two novels Trails West. They tell the history of this area in story form about the early settlers who first came to these parts.

Rebecca's Cabin is located straight back behind the Pavilion.  It is in the middle of our cabins.

Del standing on our newly constructed footbridge across Serenity Creek.  From the deck of Rebecca's, the guest can look down into Stephanie's Garden where this little "suspension" bridge is located.
