CONSTRUCTION OF EAGLE'S NEST LODGE BEGAN MARCH 3, 2008,  exactly  4 years after our original land purchase of 15.3 beautiful acres in Washington County, just outside Round Top, Texas.

Above, Del and grandson Sam walk on the slab of Eagle's Nest Lodge as our chocolate lab Max looks on.  The slab was poured on March 14, 2008.

Our ultimate dream of Eagle's Nest Lodge is quickly becoming a reality.  It is currently under construction with ceramic tile going in as of November 22, 2008.   It has taken us a little over 4 years to get to this point.  The Lodge when completed will have 3 Bedrooms for lease plus a meeting room and formal dining room.  The lease rooms will be available starting January 2009.

Del & Max (our chocolate lab) investigate the framing of Eagle's Nest Lodge.  Hopefully, the lodge will be complete by the fall antique show.

The Austin Stone goes up!  The Lodge will have a spacious veranda deck that spans forty feet where guests will be able to enjoy the gorgeous woodland view and catch a great south breeze.  More pictures will be posted as the construction continues.  Eagle's Nest Lodge will be a great place for a small corporate retreat and meeting place.  We will be able to arrange for catered meals or a simple breakfast to our guests.

As March ends and the spring flowers dress up the countryside, the roof rafters on Eagles Nest Lodge started going up.

The second floor center room is going to be called the Blue Jay room.  It will have an antique double 4 poster bed and also an antique twin bed.  Next to it is a bathroom with a clawfoot tub.  Normal price for this room will be $125.  Antique festival price will be $135.  Breakfast will be offered as an option.

When complete, the den will have an 8' wide 26' tall Austin stone fireplace with a towering cathedral beamed ceiling.  Guests may watch TV or play the piano in the downstairs spacious area.  All ceilings on the 1st floor are 10' high except for the den whose ceiling soars to 26' from the floor.

The staircase goes up to the second floor balcony in the back of the room seen here.  To the right side of the balcony, will be the Eagle's Room.  Large windows overlook the forest to the west.  It will have a king bed and a private bath.  The Eagle's Room rates for 2009 are normally  $175 and during Antique Festivals $190.  Continental breakfast, juice and coffee or tea will be a feature of all rooms at the Lodge.

On the East side second floor gable will be the Cardinal Room with its wonderful pastoral view of the rolling countryside.  It will feature a Queen size bed and cathedral ceiling.  It is just steps away from a shared bathroom with a clawfoot tub.  The Cardinal room rates for 2009 will be $145 normal, $160 Antique Festival.
